As individuals concerned about quality of life and the environment, I am sure that you frequently consider how the environment affects your well-being. Asking questions about what is being spewed into the air that is breathed, dumped into the water what is drunk, or absorbed into the food that is eaten has become commonplace. What about your social environment? It has just as much of an impact on your life, and in most cases the effects are more readily felt than those of what we consider to be the outside environment.

True friends love and accept you for who you are. They don’t try to change you, yet they have a uniquely subtle way of encouraging you to be better; and expect the same from you. Anyone who allows someone to continue harmful or destructive behavior is not being much of a friend, even when the other person doesn’t see it as being harmful.

You need to discover your inner self-know what your values are and strive to stand firmly to them. By this, you can be sure that you’ll begin to meet others with the same values as you have. After all, like energy attracts like energy. In order to gain quality friends, you must know how to be a quality friend. Friends can always divide one’s sorrows and multiply one’s joys. Anyone in your life who is dragging you down is absolutely not a friend. This kind of individuals are on a different path in life and they need to meet other people and learn different life lessons.

As you will see in the Scripture verses listed below - the Bible tells us to choose our friends carefully, that he who walks with wise people will become wise himself but that he who keeps company with fools will he himself be destroyed. The Bible tells us that we not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers and that we are to stay away from people who cause divisions and offenses and to withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly.
